The Klamath River Renewal Corporation removed four dams on the mainstem Klamath River in 2023 (Copco 2) and 2024 (Iron Gate, Copco 1, and JC Boyle). The Consortium and its many partners are monitoring how the river responds.
The Karuk Tribe website provides a real-time dashboard comparing current Klamath River water temperatures conditions to years prior to dam removal.
For a summary of these dams and reservoirs’ previous impacts, see the archived version of the Klamath Hydroelectric Project page on the Consortium’s old website.
